While Google Analytics application has been available on Android for over two years, the iOS version of the google analytics application has just been released. Optimized for the iPhone or iPod touch, the hardware must be updated with iOS 6.0 or later. Conspicuously absent is a Google Analytics app that is compatible with the iPad, which will hopefully be added at a later date. While Google has generally done a good job maintaining equality between apps offered on Android and Apple devices, it is curious that this particular one has taken them so long to release, and then it is limited to specific devices.
The application offers all of the same features as before, giving you the ability to monitor how many hits your site has gotten, specific page views, sources and more. An added feature for the mobile app includes Real Time reports, giving you the ability to monitor your data as it is being gathered.
Until now, iOS users have had to use either third party applications to view their web analytics from Google Analytics, or navigate through their data on the mobile site. The new application will allow users to gain the same information, but get a better end user experience. The Analytics app will be able to utilize the sign-in features of other Google applications, such as Gmail and Google+. The application is now available in the App Store for free as a 3.9-megabyte download.
