The Software-as-a-Service industry has spilled out of the world of technology, and has found it’s way into less technology focused fields as well.  The hospitality industry has capitalized on the programs offered today.

Social Tables : event planning platform, founded in 2011, provides a cloud platform that hosts a suite of features that help with the event planning process and event management tools.  Tools include online marketing, sales solutions, 2D or 3D room diagramming, and business intelligence for hotels and event attendee management.  All of this can be accessed from a mobile device, or from a desktop.

Currently, 2,500 users make use of Social Tables.  Some customers include the chain of Hyatt hotels, but also corporate meeting teams, or special event teams such as the Harvard Business School.  Thanks to $ 8 million from Bessemer Venture Partners, Thayer Ventures, Militello Capital, 500 Startups, Middleland Capital, and Fortify Ventures, they will be able to expand the platform, and expand their customer base.
